30 years ago, this man built a wooden bassinet for his son using a few pieces of pine and a handsaw.
Three decades ago, a couple who recently immigrated from Poland were expecting a baby. They didn't have jobs, and had little savings, so they had to make due with what was available to them. Instead of buying a crib from a store, this man built one himself for his newborn son.
When that baby grew up and started his own family, he decided to carry on his father's tradition. He set out to make the exact same crib.
Not much of the original crib was left after being handed down from family to family for the last three decades.
So that was used as a template.
He began cutting out the pieces.
Sanding them down.
Putting the pieces together.
One side finished.
The new and the old, side by side.
Adding the bottom rockers.
A faithful companion.
Cutting the pieces.
The sides pieced and glued together.
Starting to put it together.
The finished product and the proud father-to-be.
Like father like son!
